About us
How did an American woman and a Canadian man meet in Český Krumlov, fall in love, and build the friendly empire known as Krumlov House?
This recent New York Times article best describes how we started. Today, if you stay at our hostel, you’ll find Cal busy in his wood workshop and Carolyn editing The Literary Bohemian.
We choose our staff from guests who stay with us, and we love what they do. Come and see for yourselves!

So many festivals, so little time…What’s there to get jazzed about? Jazzky Krumlov (Sept 8 – 11). Our personal favorite is The St. Wenceslas Festival (Sept. 24 – 26) – Don’t miss Burčak, the first wine of the season, the gathering of the Václavs, or the fruit dumpling eating contest!
