February 6, 2012: Krumlov House won this year’s 2012 HOSCARS (Hostel Oscars) for the Czech Republic! whoooo hoooo! I’d like to thank all the little people who worked behind the scenes to make this happen: Anna Venezia, Bobes Kouleeskooh, Maya Marga Red,Colin Lewis, Callon Zukowski and of course, our guests, who took the time to rate their stay!

Do you like hockey? Then you’ll love going to a hockey game in Ceske Budejovice! Good seats cost 250 crowns (about 10 EUR) and it’s sure to be a wild fan-filled evening! Schedule here:

Friday nights: At 8pm our favorite band plays in Cikanska Jizba, better known as Gypsy Bar. Get ready to dance on the tables!

Saturday and Sunday: Public ice skating at the local rink! We have skates to borrow, and entrance is 35 crowns (about 1.50 EUR). Times: Saturday, 18:30-20:30; Sunday, 14:30-16:30. Skating ends mid-March.

Sunday nights: At 8pm a singalong at our favourite Czech restaurant. Songbooks included! at 10pm, bring a mug and some wine to THE STOLEN GALLERY, where every week a local or visiting artist shows their latest oeuvres.

Interested in warming up with zumba or yoga? Join Carolyn (the owner) for a fun workout at the local exercise centre. Bring comfy clothes, a water bottle and towel. 

Yoga on Tuesday at 5.45pm and Thursday at 6pm. 50 crowns for the hour.(ZVLASTNI SKOLA – Kaplicka)
Zumba on Monday at 5pm and Wednesday at 7.30pm. 70 crowns for the hour. (LINECKA SKOLA – Linecka)

Krumlov House awarded “Best Hostel in Czech Republic” and “Best Atmosphere”

The Krumlov House/ Literary Bohemian Writer’s Retreat

Looking for that elusive “room of one’s own” in Europe? This year, Krumlov House unveils THE WRITER’S ROOM. Replete with a view to the castle tower and town spires, unlimited ADSL/wireless connection, small tea and coffee kitchenette, and a writer’s library. Price: 600 CZK (25 EUR) per night for one person. If the writer’s room is unavailable, we can offer you a private attic room with desk for the same price.
Krumlov House is home to The Literary Bohemian. We can provide your group (up to 25 people) all you need for an inspiring stay –  visits to local artisans, Czech immersion language class, guided writing activities, hiking, biking, mushroom hunting, guláš cooking class, and evening history/folklore tour — the possibilities are only limited to your imagination.
